Ode to Weird People

By Sammy Ginsberg

In the format of Ode on a Grecian Urn by John Keats

When I see you in your bright blue hair do
I feel so light like a piece of your hair
I want to tell you of glowing mushrooms,
And holes that take you to places so fair,
So dear, so true that long pink spiders make love
In their fresh grass that smells like strawberries,
Yellow panda’s set daisies on blossom.
You are white and peace, my lovely dove.
You say weird things sometimes that make fairies
From laughs that I emit, slight gas from my noggin.

I see you almost everywhere, you stand
Out like clown shoes sitting next to white keds.
I want to put you on my feet, feel grand
And laugh at life, your life, my life, at shreds
Of life, and like the brightly colored ones.
Vibrant and full, shiny marbles inside
Your mind is filled with brilliant butterflies.
Lovely night and blueberry suns
Remind me of you and your crazy side,
To this I’m drawn, do you feel the ties?
