About
Sammy Ginsberg is nobody. She/they grew up in Los Angeles (a local!) and then went off to study English and Modern History at the University of St Andrews in Scotland.
She has studied writing at the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics in Boulder, CO and at Poetry School in London, UK with authors including Jacqueline Saphra, Joanne Kyger, John Burnside, and Clive Matson.
Sammy has been published in Porridge, The Ogilvie, [Insert text here], Askew Journal, and Living Artists Magazine. She has been on the board of the StAnza Poetry Festival and European Poetry Festival, and provided PR and marketing support for authors published by HarperCollins, Penguin, and Red Hen Press.
She has also been deeply involved in community service. She has volunteered with Action for Education, TreePeople, PathPoint, Boys and Girls Club, Hollywood Fringe Festival, and Overdue. She was Interact President in High School, a past member of the Calabasas Rotary Club, and a life-long Girl Scout.
Currently, she works as a high school English teacher in Los Angeles and is completing her Masters in Secondary English Language Arts Teaching at California State University of Northridge. She is also one of the editors of the Northridge Review.
