The Feminist Toilet

The Feminist Toilet is a literary magazine that celebrates and raises awareness about public health issues, specifically the toilet.

For the last few years, we have hosted a toilet themed celebrated on UN World Toilet Day (November 19, 2023). Some of them have been launch parties, others have been dinners and writing workshops.

We’ve partnered with the International Medical Corp, Poet Laureate of Los Angeles, Poet Laureate of West Hollywood, The Music Center DTLA, and have been official members of the World Toilet Organization.

We’ve also been featured in the WeHo Times and Arts Beat LA.

The Feminist Toilet #1

This issue came out in 2020 and is available on Amazon.

It features work by  Clive Matson, Deepti Gupta, Angelique Neumann, Leon D. Schlossberg, Alice Bradshaw, Susan Hitchcock, Ilana Gustafson, Christian J. Perfas, Virginia C. This issue came out in 2021 and was in partnership with the International Medical Corp. It features work by Mohammad Zahir Saadat, Linda Ravenswood, Dwell Time, Asha Nevius, Zainab, Jen Cheng, Ben Moritz, Traci O’Dea, Sammy Ginsberg, Milana, Magdalena Gómez, Saman Maham, Lloyd Schwartz, Affonso Romano De Sant’anna, Aisha Usman, Aqsa Khalid, Razia, and Deepti Gupta.

It was co-edited by Sammy Ginsberg and Brian Sonia-Wallace.
