BIO

Brenda Carsey is a Los Angeles-based vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter extraordinaire, and producer; a seasoned live and recording artist and singing pianist who can do and play it all. Her music has been described as brilliant, timeless, playful, and larger-than-life R&B/Soul and Progressive Pop; an evocative songwriter with rich lyricism. Carsey delivers an engaging, energetic show, with her unmistakably unique sound rooted in the classic pop diaspora. Carsey’s voice is uninhibited with a virtuosic range, mixing a syrupy sweet sound with a beautiful, soulful darkness. She will stop you in your tracks with poetic lyrics, fluid melodies, engaging chord progressions, funky rhythms, and a voice filled with passion and soul.

Carsey has been studying music and performing since the age of five. From choirs, orchestras, and marching bands to soul, jazz, rock, pop, folk, hip hop, and electronic groups, cabaret stage shows, and solo projects, it seems she has done it all. Carsey plays both piano and guitar and performs both solo and with a full band ranging in size and instrumentation depending on the show. She also produces electronic music. Carsey has been featured as a vocalist and instrumentalist on many projects in partnership with Netflix (Easy Bake Battle, Babysitter’s Club, Better Call Saul, Tiger King The Musical), The Voice (TV Show), Joy Ride (award winning short film), Rapture (Versa Media show), as well as on albums by Matt Axton, Whitney Tai, Cesar Saez, Phoebe Silva, Kid Lightning, Clark Chimp, and Feral Kizzy.

In her home base of Los Angeles she has performed on the iconic stages of Moroccan Lounge (headlined), The Hotel Cafe (headlined), The Bootleg Theater (co-headline with Karmic), The Teragram Ballroom (opening for Chris Ayer), The Goldfish (headlined), The Satellite, The Hi-Hat, Harvard & Stone (headlined + residency), Gold-Diggers (headlined), The Virgil (headlined + residency) and more.

In the later half of 2024, with the help of community and supporters, Carsey successfully funded what will become her third mega full-length studio album. Research and planning for this next artistic chapter was put on temporary hold due to the LA fires (which she was directly impacted by), and personal health and financial matters. As 2025 has unfolded and now nearing autumn, Carsey finally has the means and time to thoroughly research the best team to make this new album, put a direct plan in order, and make it all happen! Stay tuned for new music magic 2026! And in the meantime, you can visit Carsey’s Bandcamp page to explore her whole deliciously diverse discography and limited edition merchandise.
