BIO
When Bradley Bobbs isn’t at his job as Senior Scientist for Laser Ultrasonics at Intelligent Optical Systems in Gardena, he’s around town performing poetry, comedy, story-telling, parody songs, and physics lectures for non-scientists.
Q&A
LP: How would you describe your art?
It mostly defies description. Many people call it “performance art”, which is their way of saying that they don’t know what else to call it.
LP: When did you start performing?
I was in a family production of Hansel & Gretel at age 5. I played Gretel because we didn’t have enough girls to fill out the cast.
LP: Who are your influences?
“Weird Al” Yankovic, Alan Sherman, Andy Griffith, Eddie Cantor, A.A. Milne, Lewis Carroll
LP: If you were given $1,000 dollars for an art project, what would you do?
Fund more and bigger performances of my Edgar Allan Poe variety show “Poe-Etic License”.
LP: What do you think the function of art is in the 21st century?
Express creativity and imagination to make people feel and think.
LP: Why did you sign up to perform at PorchFest 2025?
I love to perform, especially when I’m in control of the performance.
