BIO
Emily Zuzik is an L.A. based singer-songwriter who has musical roots in a unique eclectic blend of alt-country, rock and electronic music. She brings to her songs a woman’s vulnerability and strength in the tradition of Patsy Cline and Lucinda Williams. She has written, recorded and performed with Moby, The Album Leaf, Tim Lefebvre (David Bowie/Tedeschi Trucks Band), Ted Russell Kamp (Shooter Jennings/Tanya Tucker) and Kramer over the years. Her lauded 2020 Americana album, Torch & Trouble, produced by Ted Russell Kamp, gained praises among the Americana press including Ditty TV, Twangville, American Songwriter, Americana Highways and more. Her lead single off the album, Trouble, also won 2020 Song of the Year from Welsh Online Radio Wigwam. Emily released a new EP, age + alchemy, in May 2025, which drew reviews from Twangville, Real Gone Magazine and Americana Highways. She is also the Dj for Ms Emily’s Rock Soup, a monthly Americana-themed radio show on Welsh station, Radio Wigwam. Her music has been featured in TV and film shows as eclectic as NBC’s Love Bites, CW’s Smallville, CW’s Roswell, New Mexico, MTV’s Catfish, the film The Endless and more.

LP: How would you describe your art?
Songwriter rock with a bent of the eclectic
LP: When did you start performing?
I started playing around 12. I began performing out in my early 20s. And several decades later, I continue to do so.
LP: Who are your influences?
John Lennon, The Beatles, Liz Phair, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie
LP: If you were given $1,000 dollars for an art project, what would you do?
Record a song with a band ($1000 likely wouldn’t cover the cost of studio and band, but)…
LP: What do you think the function of art is in the 21st century?
To remind us that there is a long history of past humans who have told stories of life, love, loss and longing in music, painting, sculpture, film, etc.
LP: Why did you sign up to perform at PorchFest 2025?
I had a friend recommend it and I am always searching for new people to connect with musically, artistically and as appreciators of the arts.
