BIO

Juan Amador is a writer and performer from Los Angeles.
He released his first poetry book titled “Pimping My Trauma” with Riot of Roses Publishing House.
His poems have been included in the literary journal Mobile Data Mag and anthologies from Beyond The Veil Press, Golden Foothill Press, Poetic Underground LLC Press, Sunflower Station Press and Curios Publishing. Most importantly, Juan Amador is a pancake connoisseur.

Q&A

LP: How would you describe your art?

A buffet of darkness and light.

LP: When did you start performing?

I started performing in high school to conquer my shyness.

LP: Who are your influences?

Nivek Ogre of Skinny Puppy, Rutger Hauer’s character Roy Batty, Placebo, local poets such as Alex Alpharaoh, Jonathan Kermah and Cristian Perfas

LP: If you were given $1,000 dollars for an art project, what would you do?

Travel to Edinburgh Fringe Festival to share my story.

LP: What do you think the function of art is in the 21st century?

A Call to Molotov Cocktails.

LP: Why did you sign up to perform at PorchFest 2025?

I like to perform my truth in front of people.
