This is my first attempt at organizing a calendar listing of events again! I used to do this as an undergraduate and when I lived in London. I’m bringing it back.
There are just so so so many cool events in Los Angeles! And Instagram (aka META) SUCKSSSSSSSS as an event sharing platform. And Partiful is owned by Palantir!! Corporations are commodifying community while our healthcare administrators profit from mental health issues and the epidemic of loneliness.
Let’s bring blogging, community noticeboards, and word-of-mouth back!

Derrick C. Brown is an award-winning poet, storyteller, and president of Write Bloody Publishing. His innovative fusion of poetry and comedy earned Paste Magazine’s Comedy Album of the Year (2023). The New York Times praises his work as “a rekindling of faith in the weird, hilarious, shocking, beautiful power of words.” A formerparatrooper with the 82nd Airborne, Brown has authored ten poetry collections and four children’s books, winning the Texas Book of the Year award for Poetry. He serves as the 2025/26 Poet Laureate of Los Feliz, California, and often tours via motorcycle, bringing his explosive performances to venues worldwide.
Olivia Gatwood is a poet, novelist, and screenwriter from Albuquerque, New Mexico. She has received international recognition for her poetry, writing workshops, and work as a Title IX Compliant educator in sexual assault prevention and recovery. Her performances have been featured on HBO, HuffPost, MTV, VH1, and the BBC, and more. Her poems have appeared in The Poetry Foundation, Sundance Film Festival, Lambda Literary, and The Missouri Review. She is the author of two poetry collections and one novel. She lives in California.

Welcome to AMP’s fifth official event division: Little Tokyo Zine Fest! This one’s all about shining a spotlight on zine makers, artists, and all-around creative folks. We’re bringing that DIY energy right into the heart of Little Tokyo, just like our sister event, AniMarketplace!
LT Zine Fest was born out of a simple idea: creators deserve more spaces to share, connect, and grow. Southern California’s art scene is huge and full of life, and AMP wants to help keep that energy flowing. We’re here to make room for small businesses, artists, and makers to do what they do best — create and build community.
Our very own Los Feliz Writer Miss B will have a table!
