By Nancy Lynée Woo
wild weather is upon us –
wild wanderer, I wonder where
the wildness goes –
when it leaves –
where do all the frogs go
when they go extinct?
what wild plane do we come from –
us, the birds, the butterflies
and the bees?
whoever is out to destroy
all living things, I hex them
with my wild wand, my bravery
and brawn! i’m re-enchanting
my mind – un-exiling my inner child
and supercharging up my SUPERWILD
waving goodbye to archaic fright –
welcoming in the welcoming new –
because what’s wild within me –
sees what’s wild –
within you –
and we won’t back down –
wild magic calling out :
capitalism deranged –
patriarchy fire-fanged –
bigotry harebrained –
I let my wild feelings rage
against guarded space –
bathroom stalls
breaking down
obsolete walls –
wildness exposing itself –
to itself – punching out
of the porcelain bowl –
like a rainbow-moaning myrtle –
scrubbing out the pee stains –
of minds untrained – to see
the sacred – in the profane –
inviting in – what passion
gains – because wild
love – cannot be
contained
